Celtic Fire
Multi-instrumentalists Duncan Davidson and Bernard Wells take the stage as main guests this chilly July month in what promises to be a wonderful concert.
Duncan is a local boy, as a youngster he learned to play accordion, and flute, and later on, the fiddle. One of the instruments Duncan will be playing on the night is a mandolin lovingly crafted by Upper Hutt Luthier and good friend Bernie Breslin.
Bernard Wells is a teacher of the lute, guitar, and a few other instruments too, and his much sought after skills have earned him a place in several ensembles.
With many years performing together as a duo, Duncan and Bernard are often found playing Mainstage at festivals, and often leading some of the sizzling ‘Celtic Music Sessions’ that arise. So, breathing fire into a storming selection of songs and tunes from Ireland, Scotland and Eastern Europe, and with enough instruments to equip a seven piece band, these two fine musicians are set to rock the rafters.
Together, they are the perfect tonic to warm this winter’s night. .
