SECOND WELLINGTON UKULELE FESTIVAL 2022
EXPRESSIONS WHIRINAKI ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE UPPER HUTT

These days there are so many people enjoying playing their ukes, singly or together that Mainly Acoustic Music Club has organised the second Wellington Ukulele Festival. The Festival will enable people to learn new tunes or upskill with tips from experts and beginners can learn new things about playing their ukes.

Catering and refreshments will be available on site and nearby. The new Dough Bakery is on site at Expressions. There are other cafés, restaurants, etc. nearby. You are also welcome to bring food and refreshments with you.

Programme for Sunday, 14th. February

10am - 11am

Arrival, registrations, refreshments (real coffee available to buy!)

11am - Midday

Introduction, all participants together for Sunday strum, performance by various groups and tutoring of new tunes.

Venue: The Professionals Recreation Hall

 

Midday – 1pm

Various break-out sessions

  • for ukulele beginners
  • for more advanced ukulele players
  • Come All Ye/Open Mic/Grab a Spot concert for guitar players /singers. Folk club environment -a chance to be on stage in the 210 seated Expressions Whirinaki Theatre.

2.15 - 3.15pm

Total audience together as 11 - Midday session

3.15pm - 4.30pm

Breakout sessions as midday-1pm

4.30pm - 6.00pm

Dinner break

6.00pm - 7.30pm

Finale show with The Shenanigans B and as top of the bill.

Festival Patrons -you will be getting a special Festival Songbook on the day  so please bring your music stand if you have one -looking forward to a great day on Sunday!
