President’s Patter, June 2021
Greetings one and all,
So here we are back on Level 2 again though hopefully by the time you are reading this things may have changed for the better. There’s no telling when this Covid phenomenon may surface so constant adherence to the safety measures cannot be ignored
Despite Level 2 our thanks go out to all those that attended the Wai-Tai concert at Expressions on Saturday night. Social distancing had no effect on the 100% enjoyment by the audience of the stellar performance by this unique group. They truly are not to be missed should they grace our location again. Regarding last month’s club night many thanks to the first half performers and how about Mike ‘Dr Blue”? Such a fine musician and story teller. Lets hope we get the opportunity to see him again in the not too distant future.
As July looms it is timely for me to announce the date for our forthcoming AGM This will be held at the Upper Hutt Cosmopoliton Club on Monday 26th at 7.30pm. Non members will be signed in by one of the committee. All welcome and this gives an opportunity to voice suggestions or concerns. There will also be a draw for one attendee to win an annual membership fee.
July club night is a Grab a Spot night and the entry fee is by gold coin donation. All proceeds will go to a charity, as yet undecided. Spots for performers are going fast and at this point in time I believe there are still 2 spots available.
Meantime, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 13 July.
